Alan Carr is a designer and artist who hails from Atlanta GA. After receiving his B.F.A. in Illustration from Savannah College of Art & Design, he moved to New York, where he has worked in-house for various design firms and publishing companies, including Scholastic, Penguin Group USA, Barnes & Noble, and Cocktail Kingdom.

He is a founding member and current art director of Mud Puddle, Inc., a NYC based company that develops books, gift sets, toys, and other products for a variety of retail clients.

His illustrations have been featured in the NY Times Book Review and other publications, and his paintings have been exhibited in gallery shows in New York and Los Angeles. He has also been commisioned by clients like interior design firm GFF and global IT company Wipro Limited, to create custom installations in corporate spaces.

Potions of the Caribbean, which he art directed, won “Best Cocktail Book of the Year” at Tales of the Cocktail 2014. In 2018, he received a silver medal in the “Digital Art” category, and gold medal in the “Illustration” category in the Indigo Design Awards competition.

 He currently lives in the Hudson Valley with his wife and 2 daughters.
